Metra AXXESS TYIP-01 For Ipod Controls Kinda works

Hi All,

I am new to this forum, but I have been following it for a few weeks now.

I recently installed the metra tyip-01. It seems to only work if I unplug the cables that go to the mfd. I can switch through music using the headunit controls and everything, but because it is not connected to the screen I cannot see what is playing or control it from the steering wheel.

Has anyone had any similar issue or installed this device. I am going to do some experimenting with disconnecting one wire at a time on the cable that goes to the mfd. Is this port taken up internally with the aux port in the center console? Do I need to disconect this by snipping the wires?

I am so close I can taste it. Please Help!!!!
