MFD NAV unit replaced by MFD 4 button is it possible?

    I have touring 2008 prius with a NAV MFD and a base 2008 prius. My base unit MFD 4 is dark so I just bought a replacement MFD for the base prius.

    I never use the GPS or a other special feature so is possible to keep on hand a 4 button MFD for both cars . Will it worked in touring model? That Is the question.

    Plug on back is wider on 1 of the 2 I believe . I own same.or did and have the two different here still I think
