I have been looking around for a miniature version of the Prius to enjoy here in the house. Has anyone come across such an animal? Would love a Red one of course.

Look for the brand name "Tomy" or "Tomica"... they make a "hot wheels"-size Prius model, both the current Prius and the classic.

There is another company making a larger-size model, but it is considerably more expensive and hard to find.

I found a couple of the Tomy ones using "prius model" as the search on ebay.

There are three scale models that I know of, and, lucky you, one of them is red. :) This has been discussed here before; try a search to find the old thread.
The smallest is made by Tomica and is about 1/64 scale. The second size is 1/43 and is quite well detailed for its size. I have one of these (red), but I forget the brand. (I'll look when I get home from work, if you like.) The third is 1/30 scale, made by Minichamps and quite difficult to find; appparently it was only given to Prius dealers in France. I have seen these offered for about $100, and I think they come in a few different colours.

I got one of the Tomy ones, in blue (not a big color selection like just blue and silver). I think it's a Gen 1, but it's definitely a Japanese Prius......the steering wheel is on the right. :D

The back hatch opens up and is pretty cute. I see on eBay there are several available. I got mine on eBay for a mere 10 cents, but it cost $7.50 for the shipping from Hong Kong.

That's the one I've got; I forgot it was Minichamps. Maybe I'm wrong about the maker of the 1/30 model. This one isn't as mucho dinero as the bigger one!

I've got a few. Got them on eBay. I have my eye on one that moves. You pull it back and then it goes. But I want a black one, like my car. I don't know who makes them.

This page has my Prius-stuff. I have two more hats so I'll update soon.

This site has a 1/43 scale red one. I just bought one of those little Tamico ones in silver but I'll have to find one of the bigger models one of these days.

I just bought a silver cheapie $7 one from one of the above ebay links. Thanks! I'll wrap it up and give it to my wife when I tell her that ours has been delayed seemingly indefinitely.

Are there any bigger than the 1/30 scale car? My son has a very extensive 1/18 scale car collection, and would like it in the same scale.

Godiva I just saw your collection of Prius stuff. Boy you like your Prius don't you. Also, I saw your last pic beating the EPA. You only had 10 miles! Cheater. i had one average mpg of 85.1, but it was only 2 miles...

The Minichamps model 1/43 is reddish (maroon?) and still available in Europe price about £22. The box says that it's "Merlotrot Mica Metallic" and that 1,344 were made. I think it's a 2004-5 model.
