Wow. What a great article. The author's constant ripping on the car's looks, coupled with how much he loved the car overall really made it. Fast cars usually aren't my thing, but reading this article made me really want to drive an Evolution.

My favorite quote: "On the outside, the Evo MR looks like it went into a performance parts store and got dressed in the dark."

I saw one of these in Boulder with a baby seat strapped into the back. Kinda cool.

Much cooler than the Hummer H2 with the baby seat strapped in the back.

The mileage on one of these things are very close to an SUV. My friend said he is getting about 19mpg... that coming from a 4-cylinder... :p

The closest I ever got was sitting in one in the showroom. That's about it lol. Cool car but daily driver? no. Maybe the regular Evolution.

Actually, the article says the turbo doesn't kick in until 3K, so THEY say, it makes a good daily driver as well...

Saw some of these at the dealer for $40-50k! Gotta be kidding me!

They even had premiums on thems!

    Mustang - Yes
    Corvette - Yes
    Charger - Yes

Mitsubishi???? Aren't they going to discontinue US sales one of these days (they keep threatening / promising).

Don't forget the Evo uses twin scroll turbochargers. This turbo design spools up really fast, so there is very little turbo lags unlike the WRX turbo.

Even if it meant I'd have to learn to drive stick, I'd pick the Shelby in a heartbeat. I saw the pictures on this site a several months ago, and I swear my heart skipped a beat:

But I did like the mention of "huevos gigante" in the first article about the Lancer. Reminds me of Sabado Gigante...good times, good times.
