    steph,

That is the wrong cable. You need a simple cable that has the 3.5mm end on both ends. This one has the correct 3.5mm on one end (single connector) but it has dual RCA jacks on the opposite end. You would want one that has both ends the exact same.

Don't be taken by purchasing Monster products. They are all a rip off. It is amazing what a little advertising will do. You do not need to spend the huge amounts Monster is charging. Find the cheapest one you can buy and use it. If for some dumb reason it doesn't last 100 years then just buy another. You still would be money ahead. Typically you can purchase 10 regular priced cables for the price Monster gets just for one cable.

Crap, I have no idea what or where to buy a cable like that here in london. i was just hoping that monster cable would work as it's great for my stereo. any suggestions? what's the actual name of some of the plugs? are their any wireless ones like the Logitech wireless headphones for iPod?

As for monster products. i bought it for the aesthetically pleasing look of it. the way it sounds compared to the other two cables i have just happens to be a bit better as an added bonus. i know, i'm weird. :D

would this http://www.essentialipod.co.uk/product.php?xProd=1439 work or do i have to get this...http://www.directmobileaccessories.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=2133

How 'bout Radio Shack? You can get a cable for probably 5 bucks.

I saw them at the 99-cent store, for 99 cents (well duh). In London, any electronics store should have them.

Read post #2, he said no. Also I gave those links so you could see what the cable looks like. Can't you find them on the Amazon UK site?

    Try this:

I'm aware of what the cable looks like after someone told me it was the 1/8" double male, not sure about that one you just posted. i don't lke not being able to see what it looks like. drawings don't do it for me ...  the two i listed above one is just like the one you posted from crutchfield, the other is one that is a bit more versitile i think.... i'm not sure. that's more of what i was asking if it was the same sort of thing.

They both do the same thing. If you have a stereo at home and want to hook your ipod into the receiver/amp then the ones with the RCA jacks and 1/8" adaptor is a better choice. If it's just for your Prius buy the cheaper one.

This is the product I am using in my Prius. You still need the 1/8 to 1/8 male cable. The shorter the better (less mess). The Belkin will charge you ipod while it is hooked up to your car.

The 1/8 cable goes from the Belkin to Aux input in Prius.
