I will mark this news as credible as the predicted news back in the 70's about flying cars.

Google is still having issues with their self driving cars.

Ya, I definitely disagree with their timeline as well. Although I would be surprised if there aren't at least a few SDC's for sale within 15 years.

That means I have to obey the speed limit.

The blind won't miss that. They just have to stay farther back like everyone else to avoid getting sucked in.

Think of it as a rolling Cuisinart.

Hope it has a heavy duty wiper motor, and high capacity windshield fluid tank then.

With a fan that big, California would have to ban it from the roads during mass migratory bird movements.

Nope, it doesn't fly, it's for pedestrian control.

haha....looks like the car drove into an area that was not on Google Maps :p
Still.......I'd rather have the drunks coming out of the bar (across the street from my downtown loft) get into one of these than a normal car.

i do worry, however, about software glitches and hackers.

Brings a new meaning to the term "The system has crashed"

Let's not get misconceptions going in this thread. That is one of their streetview cars...not one of their SDC's.

Ironic that they can take 360-degree HD pics, but can't see the road ahead of them. It SHOULD have been an SDC. Oops, don't want to give Google too many ideas :censored:

    Haha, yeah I remember that.
Let's hope that's not the future we're heading towards (along with the other stuff in that movie!)

Me, I think that cabbie was a little creepy (not to mention a waste of space).
I prefer something along the lines of Siri!

Imagine how cool it would be to use your iPhone (or Android, if Google corners this market) to command your SDC to go pick up your kid from their soccer game.......they could even sit in the "drivers seat" on the way home. :)
