More than 3,000 American Soldiers' lives wasted

What more has been wasted, are the lives of thousands of the enemies of freedom and our marines.

Dragon, I'm sure you're a great encouragement to the men and women who put their lives on the line to defend your freedom whether they are in a hostile zone or in Great Falls Montana. Every one of them can step away from your message and think to themselves....

She has the freedom to support our enemies and tear down our morale because I did a great job last week. Hopefully she has the freedom and rights next week too, back to work.

 

It's all semantics. Whatever word you use, the point is that those soldiers should not have had to die. We all know that they signed up to put their lives on the line to keep our lives off of it, and for that we all owe them more gratitude than we could ever actually come up with. When someone says that their lives were "wasted," the point is not to belittle what they have done. It is an expression of outrage at the fact that they were put in that position in the first place. That said, I'm glad that both politicians recognized the...flavor of that word and apologized. But the fact that they had to sugar coat it after the fact just shows you how screwed up the situation really is. War is what it is: ugly, bloody, and painful. We shouldn't have to sugar coat anything to make ourselves feel less bad about being involved. We should either know in our hearts that it's absolutely necessary (an interesting debate all by itself) or keep them home with their families.

Saddam was evil. Sure, there are plenty of dictators that are way more evil - but taking Iraq was obviously a tactical decision... one that isn't working out so well... none the less, we're at war with Islamofacists.. in Iraq. Hey sister, if it were up to me Bush would be impeached. He lied to us. He is a terrible President and seems to have no sense of accountability.

If it were up to me, Saudi Arabia would be licking the bottom of our soldiers boots - as almost every single one of them (hijackers) was from Saud. Not only that, Saudi Arabia is a breeding ground for terrorsts. The House of Saud funds terrorism and has training grounds in their country - yet Bush can be seen holding hands with these people and making slick oil deals.

The fact of life is that we are now at war with Islamofacists whom are killing everyday, Americans, Christians, Buddhists, and even other Muslims. We have an enemy, but the enemy has no "home base".. They're everywhere in the Middle East.. This isn't a country we're at war with.. This isn't a conventional war. I don't even know what I'm discussing the symantics of war with a bunch of liberals, most of whom have probably never served their country in anyway..

Obviously, Bush thought if we could take Iraq we'd have a better grip on the whole situation.. But the issue is that HE LIED TO US TO GET THERE. Screw that.

Islamic Terrorists kill other Muslims because they believe them to be the 'hypocrites' that Muhammad frequently spoke of. In Pakistan yesterday, a teacher was abducted and beheaded by the Mujahideen. On the forehead of the severed head, the Islamists wrote the word 'Munafiqin."

Any idea what that means?

So, does the above statement mean that it's unpatriotic and "de moralizing" to criticize the war? At Nuremberg in 1947, we roundly criticized Germans because they did not speak out against Hitler and his maniacal wars, but now that we (the ever righteous US) are involved, are we all expected to march lock step behind Bush? Our soldiers are smarter than this line of reasoning gives them credit for; many of them probably realize that this war was a colossal mistake and do not feel "demoralized" by attempts made at home to bring them home. As for "defending our liberties", that is blatant flag waving dogtrot ala Josef Gobbels. Our liberties were never threatened by Iraq and have not been helped (in fact, probably more threatened) by Bush's strutting about like a Churchill wannabe, wasting (yes, wasting) American and Iraqi lives and squandering our resources. Bush, Cheney, Gonzales, et all are a greater threat to your liberties (you know, the "Patriot Act" which allows phone taps, etc??) than Saddam ever was.

Help me out here. Are you saying that any murder comitted by a Muslim anywhere is proof that all Muslims are cold blooded murderers? If this is the case, then don't you think all Christians are as well considering things like the Holocost or the US historical treatment of the Indians?
