    Yountville, Calif. - If there was a place the Toyota Prius could call home, it’d be California. The progressive lifestyle and tech-savvy Silicon Valley, combined with Hollywood, helped propel the Prius to movie-star status.

    By volume, more Priuses are sold here than anywhere in the world, a point driven home in the first five footsteps out of San Francisco's airport. No matter where you turn, you're encountered by the teardrop-shaped hybrid. You can't throw a stone in the state without hitting one.

    Roughly translated from Latin, Prius means "to go before," an apt description for the two generations that tallied 1.4 million sales worldwide. It makes you wonder: Where does Toyota go from here?
    The answer is simple. Take the strongest points of the current car - its forward-thinking design and stellar fuel economy - and improve it while making the car more accessible to the masses.
