I'm considering ordering mudflaps for my new '06 as I live in an area with salty roads in the winter and would like to try to keep as much of it off the car as possible. I was just wondering if anyone knows about the aerodynmaic impact of this add-on. I'm especially concerned about creating excessive drag on the highway. Thanks for the input!

While I don't yet have my car, others have reported zero difference in mileage with the flaps installed. I wouldn't worry about them! The wheels and tires have already stirred up the air plenty before hitting the flaps.

Picked up my white 06 few weeks ago and just had the mudflaps and rear bumper protector installed over the weekend. I think the protection from dirt and road debris far outweighted the air drag...I'll try to post some pics later.

    The short answer is NO!

I have had mine for 2 years and they had no effect on MPG.

Are the mudflaps from Coastal Tech the way to go, or does Toyota sell better ones?

I bought mine from www.metrotpn.com. No car to put them on yet but they look good in the box :)

    I got mine from:

    http://www.toyotadepot.com/store/product_i...products_id=126

Coastal tech does not have a very good reputation for fast service around here.
