Must I pay $5000 to get a nav screen the same size as my 2006 prius?

Love my 2006 Prius with its 7" diag nav screen with white background and readable print. It appears that the new Prius V I am interested in comes only with a 6" screen with an irritating grey background and hard to read print unless I pay about $5000 for the Advanced Technology Package which includes a 7" screen but also many fancy features I don't need or want. Is there any way around this? Is there any way to change the background color on the 6" screen? What is the background and quality of the 7" screen with the Advanced Technologh Package?
    Thanks for your help.

I feel your frustration. I really want the JBL too (not because of screen size) but $5000 is too much to swallow.

Replacing the OEM head unit will be expensive too.

Honestly, I think the 6 inch screen is fine but I can't find any setting to change background.

Frustration was my 2006 having a high res screen (they went high res for the mfd 2006 thru 2009). Then I got a 2010 with the at the time top of the line jbl unit and it having worse resolution then the 2006. Now for 2012 the 7 inch units have the res the 2006/9 had but yes, it's an expensive upgrade.
