I'm a total newbie, I just bought this one for my wife to commute to her new job in Malibu. So far 118 total miles, and 40.3 avg. Does everyone have these factory Toyota chrome wheels? They tried to soak me $4K for them, but I settled at $1K. I just havent seen any other wheels like these yet...

I think you got swindled. Those are the factory wheels the dealer chromed over. Toyota of Orange tried to pull this on me.

For $1K, I would buy myself some other set of rims that I like better.

    Yikes!!
That is a bit of a shady move on their part, however, I actually think that they look great. It's too bad that dealers continue to do things like this to polish their reputations as shady characters willing to lie through their teeth to make a few bucks.....*sigh*

I like the look of the standard wheels chromed. I have no idea if $1000 is a lot or a little when it comes to having wheels chromed after the fact. But I think they look fabulous.

I bought used 17" Chrome Scion TC rims with tires for $400.00. IMO the dealer hosed you.

You can get a whole new set of high-quality alloy performance wheels and tires, and might as well throw in your BT plate (tax), for that price. There are other ways to look fabulous than $1K of gilding.

And they kept the trim rings at $48 each.

OK, OK! I give up
Not much I can do about it now. But, I still have one of the prettiest Prii on the road... B) <VERY smug look>

At least I have asked for a refund on the $1600 - 7/100,000 warrenty

I may have been hosed a few times there, but at least I didn't fall for the $1200 service package, or the $695 "permanent" paint sealant job.

The wheels look really nice. I'm not sure about the best looking Prius on the road, though. :p

Yeh, they do look good; you weren't in the Bay Area recently, were you? Noticed a car just exactly like yours with the chrome wheels (first and last I've seen before or since) and thought to myself, "time to take off those trim rings."

One question to the group: has anyone noticed a mileage drop after taking off the trim rings? Still not sure, but I think I 'm down about 0.5-0.75mpg at freeway speeds.

Feeling a little silly, though, I DID fall for the service package; was able to get the price down to $745, if that's any consolation.

Also, does anyone know if voice activation can beused to turn on and off the MFD?
