So while the Prius served us well as a family hauler with three kids in car seats, we ended up getting a minivan recently because we're expecting our fourth baby in a little over a month.

I ended up chatting about it online like I do with the Prius and it turns out that reporter Nick Bunkley found us, did a short interview and they sent out a photographer to our house!

Anyway, long story short, it turns out our mugs are on the front page of the business section in today's New York Times:

    Pretty cool!

And that's a great family photo too. I'd try to get high resolution files of it and any other photos of the family that they took.

The photographer was nice enough to give me access to the original shots. The pics are his livelihood, however, so he's protective enough that he doesn't wanting me posting to Flickr like I usually do.

He was nice enough use it for my Facebook profile pic, though!

What a happy family. Congratulations. What was your criteria that lead to the decision of purchasing an Odyssey instead of like the Chrysler Town & Country or Toyota Sienna.
Did you test drive all three?

It turns out the story was syndicated and it made the front page of Yahoo!

The Town and Country was never in the running simply because of its shaky reputation for reliability, relatively low MPGs and the condemnation of an Edmunds reviewer who said "the 2010 Chrysler Town & Country doesn't come recommended due to its shoddy build quality and interior". I must admit I like the two movie screens (one for each row in back), however.

The Sienna we actually liked better. I love the Smart Key System, the electronics are more advanced, the second row seats slid further, and we like the extra headroom. We were actually a day away from buying one when we noticed a deal killer: only 3 LATCH anchors, including a single one in the back row that takes up two seats. This is just a terrible, terrible move on the part of Toyota's designers.

The Honda Odyssey has child seat anchors of some sort for each of the back six seats (5 LATCH and 6 top tethers) and since we had four car seats to worry about, Honda ended up getting our dollars.

That's a huge deal killer indeed. I hope Toyota takes notice. Thanks
