My local dealer said=If I buy a 12v battery=The warranty is NOT good at any other Dealer

    BUYER BEWARE!!!!!

    My local Toyota dealer said...

    If I buy a 12v battery from them,the warranty is NOT good at any other dealer?

    ***So if my 12v battery fails out of town under warranty=I'm SCREWED

    I'm NOT BUYING A 12V TOYOTA BATTERY!!!

    I'll bet the dealer didn't say that, but some ignoramus in the parts department said it. Why would a dealer say something that stupid!? It's a Toyota product with a Toyota warranty. Just like your car.

    Maybe dealer is selling a non-Toyota battery to you. Only explanation it won’t come with a nationwide warranty....

    I think that is the case. Not on Prius, but I had a dealer install 12 v battery on Sienna once. The battery was generic aftermarket one, not genuine Toyota parts.

    My dealer said it’s a nationwide warranty and my dealer is a top dealer, not a sleazy scum dealer like yours.

    If it's a Toyota battery, it should be good at all Toyota dealers, just carry the receipt in the glove box.

    Dude this post is a little over the top. If you're that worried about warranty, just get an Optima battery like me at your local parts store (most of them sell optima).
