My new to me Prius C 3 & its 2/24k warranty

Hi!
I just drove home in my 2012 Prius c Three, with 85,000 miles, and quite pleased. The price was well below market but the dearler's powertrain warranty is a head-scratcher. It cost $3,000 and is good for 2 years/24k miles. Doesn't seem to make sense.

The other powertrain warranties I've read about here are cheaper and offer more coverage. The finance guy said I could go in and cancel the warranty at any time. He said most people do that after about two months of driving the car and determining it's reliable.

Do I have a more sensible option if I go outside the dealership? Thanks!
