    Too bad the price is more than half my current home mortgage. It'll be great when the technology is ported to something more affordable.

    I own a plant which produces biodiesel and electricity. So I don't really work much any more. Got people who do it for me, so I have time to enjoy all my little toys :)

    The official range was lowered by Tesla to 200 miles per charge recently. One of the major reasons was going to a longer life LiIon battery. Between the original design goal and what is being delivered, there were quite a few other changes that added some weight. In a move VERY unusual for a car company, Tesla explained every modification and why. See the details straight from the CEO:

    Similarly, the Prius mpg target was 66 mpg, but making the car for the US, the changes needed resulted in a lower mpg.
