My dealer says it is losing between half a quart and a quart every thousand miles. This is at 92,000 miles. I've driven a couple of cars much longer than this, and have never had this problem. I will think long and hard before buying a Toyota again.

Would there be anything wrong with changing the oil every 2500 miles to cope with this problem? I have ten thumbs and would rather not get involved with adding oil myself.

can't you find a gas station to add oil? would be a lot cheaper than changing it.

btw, what your dealer is telling you means you're running out of oil between changes.(n)

i think toyota considers a quart/600 miles 'acceptable'. i understand that we don't.

some have had success cleaning the egr and intake manifold.

and also, you posted in the prius v forum.

Oh, shoot! I'm always forgetting that there is a big gap in the index between 4 and 3. Sorry!
