My Prius feels like its struggling and I'm not sure what to check to see what could be causing it. It's an 09 at 118k. I just got the oil changed and sometimes it runs fine but I can't pinpoint why.

If you haven't tried it, you might do these two things.

As far as using the throttle body cleaner, if you have it use it. If not, I wouldn't go out to get any. I have used isopropyl alcohol 70% or higher. You might have some in the medicine cabinet. Use a q-tip for the maf sensor. Be gentle, it is only two little wires on a amber bulb. Don't break them or you will need to replace the unit. The sensor will have a sooty buildup, clean until the bulb is fairly transparent.

Put everything back carefully, hope that helps.

I bought the car used but all maintenance has been done. I had every intention of doing a full tune up at 120k.

Going to look into it. Based on the video it's more likely the sensor if anything.

might as well get it over with, then see where you stand. there are some issues the 120k service doesn't cover such a erg, intake manifold, throttle body and mad, as hchu1 mentions above.

Unfortunately I can't until next month either way which is when I'll likely need to do it.
