Not sure what this is. It has a button on the side and 5 pin connector. No vent so don't think it's a humidity sensor. Looks to be an antenna. Hard mounted. Barcode doesn't show anything on Google.

could that possibly be the light sensor that controls high beams?

Is it aftermarket? Looks like it.

    Probably GPS or tracking unit.
Never saw them before, but did sirus/xm have any units like that?

Strange. Prius 1. No bells or whistles. I hit the button and don't think,l anything happened. I'll remove it later when I do a head unit upgrade.

The button probably has to do with programming, otherwise it would be a "please steal this car" flag it did something like starting the car.

If you purchased the remote, you might end up with a working system. An installer could probably identify the model and hook you up.

Our 2015 Prius Four came with an aftermarket remote-start feature (Audiovox??), which did work the couple of times I tried it, but I seem to have managed to disable it -- inadvertently -- by fiddling with TechStream.

Anyway, I don't recall seeing anything like the gizmo in the picture.
