Few days ago I found this piece of plastic on the floor of the front passenger seat. I thought it is something that might have dropped from below the glove compartment, but I can't point to where exactly it goes. Can you recognize this part and help me to fix it.

It covers an opening that is kinda in front of/under the front of the passenger seat on the floor. Just clip it back in place, or leave it off if you want, doesn't really do anything but, well, act as a cover.

Under that cover the carpet has a flap that, if you fold back it reveals the chassis I.D. (VIN) number stamped in the body.

Found it. I wasted so much looking near the glove compartment and other places, but didn't occur to me to look on the carpet.
Thanks for all the informative responses. Appreciate the humorous ones as well.

I think I heard that that cover is for blocking the insults that the japanese workers made while the manufacturing process went on.
It's like the Genie lamp cover of the vehicle
