Nav system software update for MY 04-05 - done it?

    I received a letter informing me of this update. Unfortunately, I filed it without noticing that it had an expiration date of 12/31/2005. Now I'd like to get it done, and have two questions:

    Did anyone have it done this year ... I am not sure how Toyota could say this was a problem in 2005 but now it's not something they're willing to deal with. Are they flexible about this or not?

    And second, probably most imporantly -- is this a useful update -- should I even pursue it (my nav system seems to be ok)?

    I'm sure there was an expiration so people didn't use the notice to update their maps to get "the latest" information whenever they wanted it. It was to replace the original software since it was defective, not to give you a free update at a time when you would want to purchase a new one anyway. You're probably SOL on this one since it's significantly after the expiration.

    I don't know if it would have been effective, since I don't have nav.
