We just bought an 08 Prius and the dealer talked us into a $1645 warranty. He failed to mention the 36 month "decision" period. I see that I could get the same warranty for $990 through this site. Some advice please??

Seems steep to me. I just purchased a certified used 2007 Prius stll in the 3 year 36k factory warranty. Because is was certified I was able to extend the full wrap around 7yr 100k Toyota Platinum warranty for under $900. Did you get a Toyota warranty? Anyhow, congrats on the car!

cancel it, get your money back.
then wait until the 35 months 35000 is almost up, then buy one.
why pay money today for something you will not need for 3 years?

put the $1600 in the bank, get 3 years interest - instead of letting the dealer get the use of it for 3 years

Cancel the warranty, you have a 30 day change your mind period, if dealer asks why, tell them you found a better deal for the SAME warranty at a different dealer. BUT, don't tell them who or where, if they will meet the price then no big deal, if they don't, cancel, and if you want to buy warranty now, buy it through PC, or wait, as long as its within the factory warranty period.

    I agree!

I'm quite sure they will do whatever they can to pressure you into keeping it or some variation of it, but hold strong and cancel it a.s.a.p.
