need a place in Orange Co (TODAY)...to purchase a 12v battery. I know we kinda like the optima, but not sure where to get them...
    Car won't start.....
Hit the power button and got everything BUT power.....(a gazillion beeps ....gurgles...symbols)
Have had crap for mileage the past 10 tanks or so...guess this was the problem.
Also..how the heck can I get the trunk open when the battery is dead in order to replace the dam thing?

    Thanks!
    brad in HB....2005 Prius

Edit:...OK I've called, O'reily, Autozone, Pepboys,.....and the local Toyota Dealer (parts is closed today  ). NOBODY has anything,..everyone tells me that it's a specialized battery. I've checked the Optima website and called most everyone on their list...I even put a call into the Elearn website guy and left a message.
I might have to get a ride to work tomorrow if I can't get this fixed today....or try charging the old one if I can get the trunk open.

Try Costco, they carry the Optima batteries.

Longo Toyota Parts dept was open....in Long Beach...but out of Stock ....!
Guy tells me if he did have it...cost is $174 but he did not know the brand name. Said is was a "Special" battery....he was also concerned if my Prius had Navi or not...(which I can't see would make any difference).

Difference in batteries is for SKS vs. non-SKS (SKS has slightly higher amp-hr rating). I would buy a booster pack from Walmart or somewhere to get to work until I could get a replacement battery if I were in your situation (in fact I already have one but haven't needed it yet).

Ended up at my local Dealer.....that way they could also do the 2 recalls (Accelerator and water pump).
First BIG thing I noticed with my brand new 12v battery is.....
MY GAS MILEAGE WENT BACK TO ALMOST 51MPG..!!
so my weak 12v was killing my mileage (which had shrunk to about 39-41 mpg).
