Need someone to program new smart key for my prius

    Okay i need to find a technician that can program the key for my car. Dealer i called is talking about reseting ecm etc and 4 hours labor.

    The fob is not programmed, the car is programmed to accept the fob. The dealer is your only option I believe.

    It sounds like you have lost both smart keys, correct?
    If so, yes, it is expensive. ($500 minimum)

    If you still have one of the two (that came with the Prius), then, it should costs much less.
    (i.e. smart key + 1 hour labor -> $200-300?)

    Cost I mentioned is for 1 smart key only. The reason is that the procedure is much simpler with a reference key. It seem like the reference key can provide much information to make programming the second key faster and easier.
