New 12 volt battery- Problem after Touch screen replacement.

Recently replaced a Touch screen model# BT003A from a 2006 into a 2009.
Which went well up until restarting the car.
It seemed the battery had been drained. I jumped the car and all seemed well on the test drive and multiple restarts.
Next day I get a call from my wife needing a jump. And again everything is fine until a couple of starts later. I asume it’s time for a new battery so I replace it. And of course everything checks out and works well over the weekend though come Monday after she drives to work and goes to open the rear hatch to take her supplies out, nothing!!!
I went by today and didn’t feel like crawling into the trunk to check the battery with a multi meter I jumped it. And used the code reader seeing 13.2 volts at the obd plug. No codes either.
What am I missing here???

Hey Tom, My 2005 Prius has 600 K, my wife’s 2009 90K is the one I replaced the 7 button touchscreen on with one I removed from my salvaged 2006 I use for parts. I’ve never had a new battery fail immediately upon exiting the car before.
Though I figured it out. I rechecked my installation of the Battery looking for something loose and found it. It was the bolt connecting the Negative cable to the chassis some fool had not tightened it down. So the touch screen had nothing to do with it. The old battery from 2014 just happened to need replacing, though maybe that’s why the screen went out? Hmmm.

Hey Mr Guy; you were right. It was a loose chassis connection. The fool that installed it got distracted and didn’t tighten the 10mm bolt, a few bumps on the road and the door closing was enough to make it loose it ground connection.
