With nearly 250 user reported MPG data points I figured that there should be some fairly useful data summary here : http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-ii-...l-what-mpg-you-getting-in-your-gen-2-a-6.html

The data was a very good fit to a normal distribution with the following parameters.

49.5 MPG (US) with a standard deviation of approx 5.5 MPG

For people using other units this translates to approximately.
59 MPG (UK), stdev 6.6 MPG (UK)
    21 km/L, stdev 2.3 km/L
    4.75 L/100 km, stdev 0.5 L/100 km

The attachment show how closely the data fits a hypothetical normal distribution with the given mean and standard deviation.

Hmm, that is virtually identical to the user reports I graphed from Fueleconomy.gov -- for the Gen3: Mean, 49.7 mpg, standard deviation 5.8 mpg.

If I ever get bored, I should pull the Gen2 figures from the same source and put them on a histogram too.
