There is a new CR report with ratings that I found today online.. Nov 06 mag must now be hitting the stands.. here is the lowdown... H Rated List...

Dunlop Sport 5000 Score 85 Looks great all around
Michelin Pilot Exalto Score 83 Great, but slightly less on ice breaking
Falken ZiexZE 512 Wow!!! Very reasonable tire! Score 83 Pretty good across the board.. may be bit noisy
Continental Pro Contact Score 81 Not good winter
Michelin Pilot XGT H4 Score 81 Rolling Resistance issue (full black circle)
Bridgestone Potenza RE 950 Score 80

Triple Tread is down the list with a score of 72
    Micheline MXV4 73

This is the order in the H Rated area.. All are consumer quick picks

Hmmm... I think I may go with Dunlops

The handling and stability that these tires provide are spectacular against the OEM integrity and very reasonable in price. ;)

I put the Falken ZE512 on my last car and they improved my handling noticably but my milage dropped around 1 mpg (from 22 to 21mpg). BTW my last car was a LS400.

Sears sells them for around $95 a tire installed and ballanced.

While my TripleTreds were only really sticky the first 15,000 miles or so, they still feel a bit better than the OEMs ever did.

However, if I can find something that rates highly for traction AND has lower all-around MPG impact, I'll note it for the next purchase...

My car is fitted with 215-45-17, much wider base size, hence more traction and floor area. I can say that I reduced my economy by 5MPG and I can live with this sacrifice for better handling and performance ;)
