The future of car air conditioning will be electrically driven compressors like those on Prii and other hybrids.

The Toyota OEM ND-11 oil is through the roof in price.

Fortunately, IDI or Interdynamics has come out with a compatible oil at a reasonable price.

at dealership today, asked about nd-11. they said they used to sell it but not anymore, that it cost $250 for a couple of ounces.

Looks like O'Reilly replied in a comment noting that this is not the product to use since is not POE oil. I do see listed as compatible however under the list for.

They recommended these two POE oil products:
    1. Murray Climate Control Refrigerant Oil - 59889
    2. MAHLE Service Solutions POE Oil - 0118006100

I'm also wondering about this product based on the POE claim: Tracer Products A/C Dye - TP1108P3. MSDS I found isn't helpful.

I am also wondering about the INTERDYNAMIC Ester Charge Air Conditioner Oil, 3 Oz. product listing on Amazon.

Any update for a DIY when the diagnostics appears to be low charge?

I bought a can of that 59889 oil from Rockauto for $11 + ship. Haven't tried it yet. Planning on doing some work on my son's Gen 2.
