I just bought an 05 base Prius. It is replacing a 2001 Honda Insight that I have had for the last couple years. I bought it for work, and to haul the family around in. I am a car guy at heart and have a couple classics and a newer Lexus SUV.

Looks like there is alot of good info here...

Thanks guys. I just got back from a 500 mile drive today. I must say that the Prius is much more comfortable than the Insight. I do need to move the seat back a bit, but from looking around, thats pretty easy.

:welcome:I'm sure you'll find the Prius is a step down in mileage from the mileage king you had but an improvement in a # of other areas.

Yup, Thats exactly what I found out yesterday. But the Prius has about 100k miles less, and the milage difference isnt that big, maybe 8 mpg. The insight needed alot of work, including a new IMA battery. So it was only getting around 50mpg. The Prius got 42 yesterday. I think alot of that is becuase it has cheapie 185 tires on it.
