I have a question about the new 2012 LED headlamps .
In the Video of the refrehshed 2012 Prius version there seems to be a v-shaped light above the main LED units !
is it an optical illusion ?
I watched both videos, the one with the normal Prius and the one with the new Plug-in very closely and it seems,if it is some kind of light, that its turned off in the video of the Plug-in but clearly illuminated in the video of the "normal" Prius !

Did any of you get a chance to see them light up? How does the color match with the headlights? Yellow like standard halogens or white like the Five's LED headlights?

I went to great length to locate upgrade bulbs that match my LED headlights and would be annoyed to have mismatched LED parking lights and headlights in the 2012 Five.

I thought that´s what they might be but i wasn´t sure about it !
I saw the headlights at the motor-show in Germany but unfortunately i wasn´t able to turn them on !
I pressed the power button until the screen came on inside and then turned the headlight switch but nothing happened !
Only the daytime running lights lighted up .
The new LED Headlights have changed a bit in comparison with the current ones .
The "old" LED Headlights have 3 LED units, two round ones and a square one above while the new Headlights have just two round LED units !
I hope they are just as good !

Will this only be available for trim 5 or all the trim levels?

The LED parking lights shown above are only on the LED headlamp housings which is only on Prius 5 or the Prius Plug In Advanced. Other models have halogen headlamps with incandescent parking lamps like the 2010/11.

Hmm, I wonder if that bumper skin will fit the 2010/2011s all trims. I bet it will. :)

Really? I was under the impression that the LED parking lights are on all models.

I thought the halogen equipped models in SF when we were there didn't have the LED parking lights. Do you have a picture of one of the halogen cars (not the v) Tideland?

Well I'll be damned. You're right. It's a Five only feature

Thanks for having those pictures Tideland, you had me worried I was giving out the wrong info about that! I think it's kind of nice to have some little 'stand out' thing to separate a top model from those below it.

I'm hoping it will. I have a nasty gash in mine, and wouldn't mind the upgrade.

Np. Yep. Although in Canada, I highly doubt that'll be the case unless they finally decide to add LEDs to the Tech Pack. (and I think they might to shrink the gap btwn the fully loaded Prius and the loaded Prius PHV...both prices are yet to be released. In fact, we know nothing about the 2012 Prius in Canada)

I think the 'v' shaped LED lights are ugly. Why couldn't they do a clean straight-line design on the bottom of the headlight like the Lexus?

That'd be cool to do. Ditch the stock taillights for the better looking Valenti lights and nobody will be able to tell you don't have a 2012 (unless it's Sandy Beach).

Then it'll look aftermarket. The straight line is boring. Why not have fun with curves/angles?

^Funny. This looks more aftermarket to me. I disagree in general that it'd look aftermarket. Have you seen the Lexus?

I'm just glad they DID IT. Nevermind if it's straight or shaped like a 'v' lol... In the end and having seen it is person, I think it looks good and goes well with the shape of the headlight where they placed it when looking at it from various angles.
