Juat put the first 118 miles on a 2013 avalon hybird xls. Mixed freeway and town in Phoenix, currently reading 42.6 mpg. It is really cool!

Awesome, keep the updates coming. Toyota hybrids normally get or exceed EPA estimates.

Congrats! I would be curious to hear how close the trip computer in terms of mpg vs. manual calculations.

I didn't quite get to sit in the Avalon hybrid at the show, but noticed the 40 MPG rating. I'm sure it's pretty much exquisite, but I'm holding back a little because the BMW 535 i at the show was truly .... exquisite ( I may not appreciate its engine running all the time, but geez that car is OTH to behold)

anyhow, congrats on the Avalon hybrid :)

I'm no fan of BMW but I wonder if BMW EfficientDynamics : Auto Start Stop function will show up on more models, like the 5-series.

I have test driven F30 (current gen) BMW 3-series w/the above auto-start stop system and the noises it makes upon restarting is comical to me. It's comical to hear it being emitted from other BMWs on the test drive route.
