new owner of a 2005 silver prius pkg#5

    Just picked it up tonight. So far so good. I have a couple of questions though.

    I noticed that this silver is different than another silver I've seen on a prius. It was slightly darker, is that considered the millennium silver or classic silver?

    Also i noticed the dash is different than the other prius' I've been in. It's smooth and slightly redish, like black when it fades due to sun. I want to switch out the interior for the that looks bumpy. I'm not exactly sure what years came with that.

    so yeah, thats me.

    the 2004-2005 prii dashboards were, in essence, smooth texture...which Toyota ultimately did change to a "rough" texture in 06, I believe...I suppose you could change the entire dash out to a textured dashboard...but I dont know what the cost would be...the smooth upper door panels were also changed to a rough texture, as well...i know my 04 dash shows alot of wear because of the smoothness of it, whereas, my 09, of course, isnt old enough to show wear, but it is "the rough" texture on the dash and doors...

    Congrats and welcome to PriusChat.

    The 2004-05 silver is the Millennium Silver. The 2006-09 silver is the Classic Silver Metallic.

    The 2004-05 dash and doors are as you and wb9tyj described (burgundy red/charcoal/black, smooth). The 2006-09 dash and doors are all charcoal/black, and textured.

    The 2004-05 interior colors are Gray and Ivory. The 2006-09 interior colors are Dark Gray and Bisque.
