    IT was the four-wheeled evangelist that brought eco-friendly green motoring to the masses.


    The Toyota Prius even had its own Hollywood cast of superstar cheerleaders in Leonardo DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz and Harrison Ford who all became owners.

    It made the big breakthrough to be the first hybrid car to become a mainstream sales hit — it has now sold 1.2million — and persuade ordinary motorists to pay for the privilege of joining the green bandwagon.

    Now the third-generation Prius is about to hit the road with the aim of spreading the green gospel even further.
