I am thinking of buying new wheels for my 2011 Prius THREE, not III because it is not a 2010. I want to increase the size of the wheels to 16 or 17 inch rims. My wife will kill me but the risk is worth it. My question is with the TPS (tire pressure sensor) Will the increase in wheel size affect the TPS functionality. My Prius is no longer under warranty. I have a classic silver Prius and looking at black rims and low profile tires. You're advice e really appreciated. Thanks all!

Nupe, all they know is pressure and temp. The sensor doesn't know if it's in a 22" wheel or a pvc pipe with 32 psi of air ( popular way to remove sensors with no light).

Aye and the change in wheel diameter does not change the tire outside diameter assuming you plus size correctly. OE 17" tire size is 215/45/17 (24.7") which is slightly smaller than the OE 15" (25"). Some, including myself, prefer a 205/50/17 (25.1") which is a fraction larger than the OE 15" and is better for fuel economy than the 215/45/17.
