New York City CABS..looking at hybrids

    It is in the News..NYC wants to go HYBRID on cabs, environmental reasons..good also they want lots of the leg rooms, so I guess our little one might be too small.. Too bad.., really the environment would be great and the MPG even better. Maybe Toyota can make a special edition for the CITY,

    Yea...I agree..I know lot of places in the world use Prius for Taxi service. NYC regualtions for CABS require a minimum of 10" of leg room as measured from the highest point of the rear seat lower part to the front seat structure.. kinda wondered if the Prius could meet that. I think it is big enough but you know the City and the rules...They certainly would love the GAS savings..

    sooo even under the worst of conditions, you are talking what?? 30-35 mpg... any other taxi getting that?
