Well, now that we bought the Prius, it's time to upgrade our phones.

My husband and I are firmly planted within Nextel service (phones/service paid for by the job) so we can't switch providers. Lucky us, since we've had our i90c's for over 4 years (without breaking the phones), the boss is willing to let us upgrade!

Soo... There are only two Bluetooth phones out there that they offer for Nextel (sans crackberries): The i870 and the i580.
    1. Has anyone out there had any experience with either of these phones?
    2. For other Nextel customers out there with bluetooth (with older series phones,) does the Direct Connect Walkie Talkie thingy (that's a technical term) work in the car?
    Thanks for any advice!

I've got the i870 and it works great. No complaints.

REALLY! Good, because I really didn't like the i580. Does the phone book work as well?

It does. I have to upload each contact seperately. The DC works too (receiving), I haven't figured out how to send (transmit) back without physically using the handset.

    Great! Thanks folks!

Now, if I could just figure out how I am going to get all of my contacts from my i90c into the i870, I'll be in business.
