Undoubtably many of you were automatically thinking, 'President Bush's Approval Ratings.'

    NOPE!!!

Congressional Approval Falls to Single Digits for First Time Ever
Rasmussen Reportsâ„¢: The most comprehensive public opinion coverage ever provided for a presidential election.

    And it gets worse!

"Voters not affiliated with either party are the most critical of Congressional performance. Just 3% of those voters give Congress positive ratings, down from 6% last month."

You just know that if these numbers were from when Newt Gingrich and the Republicans controlled Congress, the ultra liberals would be having a grand ol' time shoving this in conservatives' face . . . yet, where is the MSM? Oh yeah. Keeping this quiet.

*Yawn* Congress, as a whole, always gets a lower approval rating than the president.

And yes, Rasmussen is someone who makes Fox News look like Mother Jones in comparison. He's only listened to by well, the type of person who would put a hammer and sickle in a photo of Obama.

Thats no surprise. The president is there to lead the country in the right direction. Congress is there to make sure the president does not F^@% things up. I can count on one had the number of congressmen that are doing the right thing.

Ahh, again, the house neocons try to pass off a poll issued by extremists as relevant. But yes, people ARE pissed off at congress. The Rs for what junior has done to their party and the Ds for their reps not hanging the present ruling party by their toes. So, yes, citizens opinion of congress IS lower then even junior considering how they have allowed the fool-in-charge to muck things up so badly in so short a time.

If congress were to impeach bush I would be happy but still disappointed. Disappointed that they did not do their job earlier.

The main problem is the Republicans are obstructing legislation in the Senate. Pelosi has gotten legislation through the House, but it dies in the Senate due to McConnell and the Republicans voting mostly as a block.

The Democrats also have a weak leader, Reid, in the Senate, who is a real milktoast. All those rich white liberal Senators the Democrats have are also useless, in my view.

Durbin of Illinois, for example, is holding up oil futures legislation, protecting Chicago stock exchange interests. And Obama hasn't said a word about oil futures, while the stock market crashes and oil hits $147 a barrel. Wonder why, Barak. Not that McCain has said anything, either, except to fill the Atlantic ocean with oil wells. LOL.

    Poor leadership all around.

Everyone likes to blame the pres I say it is congress. There is really only one government and I haven't seen either side come up with solutions yet. If they had some they would have already been in the press. If it were up to me there would not be a party system and we would actually have to listen to what the people running for office stood for instead of assuming they have our backs.

Actually, it is the president's fault, you need a leader who shows the way, who leads by example, currently we have an ignorant leader who leads by corruption and incompetence, leaving an equally divided congress to waller in non action.

My belief is that we should be drafted to serve in Congress/Senate in the same method as Jury Duty----random selection would provide a better baseline of intelligence than what we have now----- anyone who actively seeks a position in congress, the senate or as president should not have it...
    just my thoughts

Brilliant! Except the "Hogs At The Trough" would never allow it to happen. We'ed need to march on Washington with torches, pitchforks and nooses to make that change.

Well, we need an impeachment process for the Hogs and the Trough, too. I think they should have a report card after each year, and if they are not performing, we citizens actively organize to get them removed from office and get someone else in. How did it happen with Arnold and Gray Davis? Some kind of recall or something? Same thing, except streamline the process so signature gathering isn't required each year.

I also think the 9% number is low, but I'm sure that the real number (12%-14%-21%?) is also way low.

So where is the disconnect? Why do 98% of Congress get REelected if only 9% of the people approve of their work?

    Anyone?
