My employer provides me with a work vehicle and my wife works two blocks from me. I drop here off and pick her up at the end of the day. We considered a prius awhile back but decided on a subaru as we need a car with some room. All of our shopping is local, 15 mile radius, and some longer trips on the weekend. We drive maybe 8000 miles yearly. Our cars are driven on the weekends and sometimes weeknights. Would the prius have any problems not being driven daily?

If you were driving the Prius on weekends only, it would be fine. If you were driving it once per month, the I'd take css28's advice.

I keep the Prius out of the salt during the Winter. Sometimes it doesn't go out of the garage for 3 or 4 weeks at a time. Have had no problems with the 12V battery, but I am going to pigtail in connectors for a battery tender.
