I just had my first 5,000 mile service at Koon's Tyson Toyota.
Cost $69.99 or something similar. Seemed to do ok. Anybody
else have a dealership they like? Are the prices similar?

Having a 5000 mile service done at Springfield Toyota today. Where I purchased the car. Was given three free oil change coupons with purchase.
I thought on the phone they eestimstedthe 5000 mile service at $99.00. But the person was not sure. I'll let you know. They and Orisman offer Saturday service which is a big plus for me.

    Joe -
Springfield Toyota's price for 5,000 mile service was $86.30 before deduction for the coupon they gave me.Their 5000 mile service says it includes: replace engine oil and filter, add BG motor oil additive, rotate tires and set pressure, inspect air filter, front and rear brakes, steering linkage, ball joints and dust covers, drive shaft boots and all fluid levels.
Labor Charge is $60.00 for this.
Oil, filter and gasket - $4.16
Charged $12.95 for qt of trans condition
Labor for dealer LOF 19 point inspection -$8.42
    Total labor - $68.42
    Total parts 17.11
How does this differ from what work your dealer said they performed?

    Joe,

I just had the 5,000 mile service done at Jack Taylor's Alexandria Toyota. It cost 63.20 for the 5K service, 13.61 for the oil change, and 5.06 for shop supplies, .61 sales tax. Total $82.48.

I had made an appointment with CarMax Laurel Toyota to have it done, but they were going to make me wait a week to get it done. (And I had one pretty frustrating service experience there before.)

Alexandria did it immediately as a walk-in. They seemed very competent.

Sorry for the late reply, had to get home to find my paperwork:

5K service includes: (All spelling mistakes are mine)
    replace engine oil and filter
    rotate tires
inspect & top off all fluids
    inspection of the following items:
    - brake linings/drums and brake pads/rotors
    - cv drive shaft boots
    - engine air filter
    - ball joints and dust covers
    - steering linkages and boots
    - nuts and boltson chassis and body

    Labor was 50.00
    Filter was 5.41
    Oil was 17.10
There was a 2.56 service special adjustment (credit) for a total of 69.95

Add onto that a 1.99 Environmental fee and 1.01 tax for a total of 72.95.

I went in at 8:30 am and left about 9:15 am.

I do have to say, I was suprised at how pleasant the experience was. I was prepared to take it to Leesburg Toyota, but I tried calling the service department there twice and kept getting transfered to somebody's voice mail.
