Purchased a package #1 after the dealer told me that they would install the mp3/ipod auxiliary jack. I was looking to purchase a package #3 for this reason, but when the package #1 became available, I decided to take it...under the impression that my dealer said they would install the mp3/ipod jack. Well...my dealer just told me that this is not possible! Can anyone confirm this? This bums me out if it is. I know I have the iTrip option, but I really don't like the sound quality on that. Somebody please tell me that this IS possible!

It needs to be noted that it's still not 2006 compatible

So even though there's an AUX jack for the iPod once it's plugged in will I be able to change songs using the steering wheel? My iPod broke a while ago so I haven't gotten a new one yet to test it out.

If you're refering to the aux jack that comes with some 2006 models, then no. That one simply plays whatever is coming through the line, and can hook up to pretty much any standard player (MP3, CD, tape, etc).

In order to have MFD and steering wheel controls, you'll need to buy and install something like the Dice or Vais units (there's a group buy going on currently for the Dice - cheeper than normal. great timing!)
