As a poll worker, I have a pretty good reason to not like ranked choice voting because I get paid twice if there's a run-off. However (comma!) as a citizen and taxpayer I like the idea of a more efficient and cost effective government. Unfortunately, since efficiency and cost effectiveness are anathema to most governments, many normies who are asked about RCV (or Instant Runoff Voting) have no idea what it is. How ranked choice voting works: A guide ahead of New York City's primary SO.... Another advantage - or DISADVANTAGE when a RCV primary is conducted, is that you at least know more quickly and efficiently which of the two repugnant choices you are faced with in the general - right? NNNNNOPE! Regardless (or irregardless) of which of the two leading candidates of NYC's mayoral election wins the primary or even if neither of them win BOTH will be on 4 November general election ballot. Can't make stuff like that up..... And yes.....the fall ballots are also RCV. Personally, I'm rooting for Mamdani...... It will be fun to watch -eh? (From 5 states away!)
You worry about election costs and don’t look at what the King spends. Reasonable, since he will deport you if you don’t look away.
I think the pay when I was doing it was something like $15 for a roughly 16-hour day. I might be mixing it up with jury service though. And that was a while ago.
