I have procured a J-SPEC EV Button straight from Japan and wanted to share it with the PriusChat community. As you may have noticed, these are going for around $100 on eBay, but I felt that a raffle would be a fun way to keep it in the PC family.

    Details:

You can enter the raffle by sending $10 via PayPal to [email protected] or you can make a check out payable to PriusChat (PM me for mailing address). Feel free to enter as many times as you would like.

A payment button will be setup soon (later this weekend) for easier entry.

The raffle will run until Sunday August 15th at which time I will randomly ask someone for a number within the range of the # of entries.

You can see various pics of the EV button in htmlspinnr's personal gallery:

Note: This does not come with the housing

Full instructions on installation of the factory EV button are here:

All proceeds will go to help fund PriusChat's continued existence in this world we call Earth.

Obviously from my other posts, I am very interested. And the unincluded housing serves what purpose?

It's practically required in order to plug in the wiring

The spades inside the switch are too close together to fit connectors (at least those that I found) easily. The housing allows you to plug and unplug the button if needed.

    See this pic:

I'm holding the white "housing" along with the wiring and plugs that I made and placed inside the housing.

    Thanks,

I assume that I can create a harness to accomplish a plugable option. But I seem to remember you mentioning an issue about space. Or that I can find the needed housing somewhere? (And why does the harness never seem to come the switch?)

It's possible, just not easy because the connectors within the switch are quite close together - good for harness plugs, bad for custom wiring. :)
