Hello, I heard that the wheels in the prius come with a cover-like protective plastic for the rim, I read somewhere that this can be removed, anyone know how can they be removed? I dont try it myself first because I'm afraid to scratch the wheel... Thanks in advanced.

Just pry it off like a hub cap. It's basically a decorative wheel trim. However, I didn't think the touring edition had wheel trim rings

No prying needed, just grab hold and pull. They come right off.

You will once you get them off.
You will find they acumulate a lot of dirt behind them so be ready to wash the wheels. This is especially true of the front wheels.

I won't deny that the Wheels look better without the plastic trim. But I've been toying with the idea of having the body shop paint them the same color as my car. Assuming your car isn't silver, that might add a cool custom look for much less than the price of four new alloy wheels.
