I am wondering if anyone has actually been able to fit three car seats in the back of a 2004 or newer Prius? I have two children but sometimes transport a third. The salesman at the local dealership told me it would be a tight fit but would work. I will, of course, lug them all down to the dealer and try to fit them in if I have to but, short of that, was wondering if any of you have any experiences in this area?

    Thanks!

It's going to depend on how big the child seats are of course - you can't even get two people in the back seat along with a child seat like a Britax Husky (actually a booster seat). Here's a link to a thread with a picture of three child seats installed in the back: http://www.priuschat.com/forums/2-child-ca...ats-vt6562.html

Yup, what Priusenvy said. There are several brands of car seat that have cup holders and arm rests that stick way out and I don't think you'd be able to fit 3 of those across. But that's my car in the picture at the link above and I carry my 3 kids in the back on a daily basis and didn't need to do any fancy mods to get the seats in. It is a tight squeeze, but they fit properly and safely.
