    Well, with just under 4k miles on my 2008 #7 I went off-roading this evening.

    Trying to do a quick U-turn (because of oncoming trafic) and nailed the center-divider with the left fromt wheel.

    Blew the side wall out and scrapped the wheel rim. :(

    Going to the dealer in the morning and replace the tire at least.

    Anyone have any experience/ideas/thoughts on this?

    Yes, I know I wont't in such a hurry anymore.

    Sorry to hear about your little accident.....but glad that it wasn't worse.

    The only suggestion I have re off-roading the Prius is to avoid mud-bogging. The VSC system will give you fits! :D

    I was looking for any areas that I might have overlooked...
    cost $220 for new tire; I found out that a #7 has 150mph tire + $100 for alignment.

    Dealer was very good and helpful car runs fine.

    I won't be in such a hurry fromj now on.

    you can probably purchase a new wheel if the scrape bothers you on ebay cheap. or jut get a new trim ring and cover it up. sorry to hear about your accident.
