    Hello All,

I have a 2006 prius with 250K+ miles. I have had the P0A80 and red triangle pop up in the past but it usually goes away. But today I got a whole host of dash lights pop up. The codes are P0A80 P3000 C1310 B1271 B142.

Does these codes automatically mean I should replace the HV battery?

I had the water pump replaced in ~2016 (or 2017).

I check the 12v battery and it was running around 12.6 when the car was in accessory mode and dipped to ~11.6 when I turned the car fully on. I replaced the 12v battery in 2015.

Please let me know your thoughts.

The only one that pretty much directly means that is the one you've been getting all along, the P0A80.

The P3000 and C1310 are just secondary gossip ("hey, did you hear you had a P0A80?"). B1421 only tells you how sunny it was outside when you read the codes. B1271 isn't one I know offhand. But the one about your traction battery is the P0A80.

B1271 is probably is from when your combination meter goes all dark and the car won't shut off unless you hold the power button in for 5 - 10 sec.

This thread, combination meter repair - DIY | Page 10 | post #188, has information for DIY repair. There are other threads that tackle what needs to be done if you are proficient with surface mount board level repairs and want attempt repairing your own board.

    Update!

The HV battery needed to be replaced. I’m so happy I found this forum because I used to tips of calling around to different dealerships to get the best price and to get a new battery instead of a rebuilt battery.

The hybrid battery was originally quoted as $2,400 then was price matched to $1755 and the labor was $440.

    I’m in Fishersville, VA

    Thank you prius chat!!!
