493D3A3C-8B3D-46EE-BC33-59D26800B9D3.jpeg I just did an oil sample on my Prius and thought I’d share theresults. Currently I burn a qt of oil every 4K. I used a Fram extended oil drain filter, mobile one 5w30 high mileage oil. I planned to change the oil originally at 279k miles but decided to stretch it since I added 2.5qts of oil between the oil change. At approximate 277k miles I put techron fuel additive and used 6 bottles (1 bottle per fill up). I also used 1 bottle of ceratec oil additive at the 269k mile oil change.

I’m impressed and happy with the results. Oil analysis was taken at 11k miles since last oil change. I’m going to try 13k mile oil change interval or 15k depending on how the car does. I’ll do another oil analysis at the next oil change.

If you do 10k mile oil changes u won't have to write it down. You'll have easy reference. Your choice.

Your motor sounds happy. Nice work. What was ur oci interval for the life of the car?

They charge extra to run TBN. I believe it's another $10-15 last I had one run.

Knowing the acidity or basicity is a key component of the analysis IMO.

I know @edthefox5 would agree too.

And that's not showing? That would be indicated by "PH"?

I'll just keep to my Canadian 3rd gen schedule, slam in 4.2 litres every 6 months, won't divulge the kms.
