I would not use the breather (filter) accessory. Keep it a sealed system.

The first one has a bronze filter, those have been found to plug up over time, and may be too restrictive. The pressure build up in the crankcase may cause leaking seals or push oil out of the dipstick.

The last one linked above, if you scan lower rated reviews on Amazon, has some problems with the drain valve leaking. If I got one, I'd either replace the drain valve with an appropriate size bolt, or thread in a barbed fitting and extension hose with a ball valve on it.

You get one heck of a lot of hardware options with those, still, for $35, maybe there’s some “weak link”. I’m a sucker for higher price, means it has to be better right?

Not a totally absurd notion; price to some extent is driven by customer opinion, and build quality as well.

if you have deep pockets, consider Moroso 85474. With it you want to apply fresh anti-seize to the large O-ring at the main body seam. Also doesn’t hurt to acquire spares. I’ve got the O-ring spec somewhere, if you’re interested.

I'd stay away from using anti-seize on o-rings. Anti-seize is petroleum based and can swell or breakdown the o-ring.

Use the silicone lubricant you use for the brake slide pins, it is safe for the o-ring.

You may be right. Still, that's what appears to be used on the Moroso can O-rings, and when I emailed Moroso (asking for O-ring spec), that was what they recommended.

Here's the spec btw. I found it readily available from a local automotive specialty store. Had to buy 10 of them to make it worthwhile for them, think it was around $10:

    -------------------------------------
    Moroso 84574 Air-Oil Separator O-Ring:
    Oil-Resistant Buna-N
    Dash Number: 038
    (Relube with anti-seize periodically)
    2.614" I.D., .070" thick in Buna-N
    (66.40 mm I.D., 1.78 mm thick)

Hmm, anti-seize, the messy silver aluminum paste? That gets on everything?

The silicone grease is clear, and way less mess.

I have that occ installed, youll be the 2nd person on here with that occ design. The twist drain is the worst. Throw some scubs on the bottom of the can for filter media.

Which port is the inlet, upper or lower?

If the upper port is the inlet, then the stainless steel scrub material should be above the baffle. Is the baffle removable, so you can place the scrubber there?

I recently picked up another catch can because I like how it is easier to clean.

Also it is made really well.
Better drain valve and filter access.
This came with everything from hose to mount and I will update this when I install. View attachment 224986 View attachment 224985 20220409_180055.jpeg 20220409_181143-1.jpeg 20220409_181132-1.jpeg

This OCC similar to mint (Pic attached), but my OCC has no Old check stick.

Even with Baffle and Micro Bronze Filter, there are 1-2 Teaspoons of oil found under throttle body every month. NO oil trap inside of OCC, only small amount of oil vapor as see at the picture.

Isn’t an OCC with a breather on top a vacuum leak?
