Ontario doubles hybrid tax rebate

    This was announced in the Ontario budget last week and it does not appear to have been mentioned on PC...

    Great news for prospective Canadian buyers, such as myself. :rolleyes: Of course, the original $1000 rebate was nowhere near that of some other states/provinces, but it's better than nothing!

    TORONTO — Ontario is doubling the sales tax rebate it offers to consumers who buy hybrid vehicles.

    In its 2006 budget Thursday, the government announced it would boost the maximum sales tax rebate from $1,000 to $2,000 for qualifying hybrid vehicles.
