Original Hybrid battery-gets 43.5mpg-How much longer will it last

KNow a lady w 435 K on her original.still can display 56 mpg whilst driving like last year. I do not know what flashing pip to tank mpg is never spent enuff time with car

 

As long as you keep driving like you've got some sense and no it's not an ambulance a looong time. Now you want to go take it out in the steep hills and stomp on it up and down mountains you to can hurriedly kill it.

 

There’s really no way to know for sure. Your current fuel efficiency is normal, so you’re unlikely to have a problem in the near future, but you’re driving a 17 year old car and Toyota could not have tested their battery tech for that long when they made it. Your situation seems similar to mine. I have a 16 year old car with the original hybrid battery that is still getting 47-48mpg in the summer. And while my car is working fine now, I’m saving up to buy a new one because I know it’s got a limited lifespan. I’d recommend doing the same thing if you can. It’s better to be prepared and not need it than to assume the car will last forever and get surprised 2-3 years from now.

You barely broke in good. If you gonna make big changes like start a lot of mountain driving or such. Or other taxing events . You might get to find out faster.
