Other brave towing experiences?

    I plan to pull two sea kayaks which are too long to place on top since both are about twice as long as the Prius. However with both on their Kayak trailer, I am still able to pick the trailer and boats up on either side by hand so weight is very minimal. How are others doing on the towing issue and have others had problems with light weight applications?

    Three points of view can be found here on the issue. Those who tow, those who don't but think it should be OK, and those (including Toyota's owners manual author) who say never.

    We have discussed it a lot, but perhaps not changed anyone's point of view.

    There is a yahoo group called priustrailers, composed exclusively of points of view #1 and #2. You might get some practical advice there.

    My concern is that somebody else may bonk your boats on the road, so good luck with that :)
